Mural «Family for a Four-Legged Friend»

Be—it Agency and the Suziria Group opened the mural «Family for a Four-Legged Friend» to draw attention to the problem of homeless animals and the importance of adopting pets.

There are about 150,000 animals in need of help in Ukraine, and in the frontline regions, the number of four-legged animals in shelters has doubled. Although the adoption rate is gradually increasing thanks to caring Ukrainians, shelters are still being filled much faster than they are being emptied. That is why, to draw attention to the problem of homeless animals and the importance of adopting pets, the agency’s team and the Suziria Group opened the mural «Family for a Four-Legged Friend» in the center of Kyiv. To create the mural’s sketch, they chose the main character, an animal volunteer named Anastasia Tykha, who, together with her husband, saved about 30 animals, including dogs with disabilities, from war-torn Irpin. The photo, captured by the famous photographer Christopher Occhicone, went viral not only in Ukraine but also around the world and became a symbol of the courage of Ukrainians who, even in the most difficult times, risking their lives, do not forget about their pets. At the day of mural opening, they organised a press-conference for media and influencers. At the event, together, with the mural’s heroine Anastasia Tykha and representatives of the Suziria Group, UAnimals, and shelters, they talked about the importance of adoption and what each of us can do to help homeless pets. 

Besides, they arranged several additional zones at the press event: 

— live broadcast from the Patron Pet Adoption Center shelter Guests could see live what pets are currently in the shelter, what they look like, what they do, and how they are cared for; 

— adoption corner Posters with stories of animals from different shelters looking for a family and contacts of their guardians; 

— a pet food zone from the event partner, Savory brand Those who joined the event had the opportunity to take food for a pet or for a four;

— legged friend who needs help. 

As a result, they managed to raise the topic of pet adoption in traditional and social media. Except for user generated content by people inspired by mural, they got 100+ publications in traditional media and 40+ publications by influencers with total coverage 7.5M+ contacts.
