Leave Sexism to the Cavemen
agama group of agencies and Talan Communications agency initiated a social campaign designed to draw attention to the problem of sexism in Ukraine. The «Leave Sexism to the Cavemen» campaign highlights the connection between the gender issue and the development of society.
Full-scale war exacerbated many problems and at the same time became a filter between good and evil. Sexism is not a made-up problem of the feminist community – it is a kind of test of civility. When statements are heard in the media that women only spend men’s money, that modern girls are spoiled and themselves guilty of domestic violence, it causes a wide resonance in Ukrainian society. But the camp of those who blame women on the basis of certain «traditional» ideas is still large.
This situation contradicts Ukraine’s movement towards European values. In general, the relationship between the attitude to the gender issue and the level of development of society is directly proportional. This was the main insight for the creation of a social campaign called «Leave Sexism to the Cavemen.»
Its purpose is to show Ukrainians that sexism is inherent in backward and aggressive societies. And overcoming sexism at all levels is the first step for a country that wants to be on the right side.
